Estrella is located along a ley line - also called a fairy path, a spirit path, or a corpse road, which is an alignment of monuments and sacred places which resonate a mystical energy.
The ley lines are unseen currents of electricity that flow throughout the Earth. They are similar to the chakra lines that run through the human body. They run the Earth's energy from one place to another and are very alive and very volatile.
While drawing from the ley line to see things is commonplace among psychics, magic - channelling its energy to do things is a lot rarer. It is very possible, but as the ley line seems to have a mind of its own, it can be a volatile practice. Generally the line needs to be appeased to or offered a sacrifice. It’s more like asking a favour.
While the use of magic is not customary, don’t feel discouraged from having characters attempt it. Just note that there can and will be IC consequences.
We’re also very open to member-driven plots, so if you have any interesting ideas or would like to have a character attempt more powerful magic, you’re welcome to run it by us.
